Role play with a teddy bear!

There are some days you feel that the only thing you have to do is observe and be proud of your team. That feeling I had a few times in the past days in my classroom.

My team consists of toddlers, children who are two to three years old. Their mood changes from one minute to another, but in the past few days they have been using their imagination in a unique way.

One day Thanasis and Eleni were playing with dough, in which time Ilia came in the classroom with her little teddy bear.

Immidetialy an impromptu role play popped out of nowhere. Children started making food with the dough for Ilia ‘s teddy bear, because Ilia confirmed that it felt really hungry. Suddenly, Thanasis observed that the Teddy bear felt cold and run around the classroom to find a coat and socks for the teddy bear. After that the teddy bear needed a walk and children began walking in the classroom. Until the time a big storm began. Then everybody run away to find the best shelter and they find it under a table.

Almost twenty minutes have passed and children have been role playing excitedly. They passed from one situation to another on their own initiative. They used their imagination, their oral communication and their body language in an unbelievable way.
I feel really proud of my children!
